Riding has been in our family for generations. With my mum Sarah, competing at HOYS and at the Royal International Horse Show, it was only natural that as soon as I could walk, I’d end up in the saddle!
As I was growing up I joined the Hampshire Hunt Pony Club and it was during my Pony Club years that I developed a strong passion for dressage (just ask me about Dusty and Perfection Himself!) I regularly represented Hampshire Hunt Pony Club in dressage competitions.
I continued to study whilst I was competing and in 2008 I completed my A levels. It was then that I took the decision to work full time with horses and seek out my ambition to compete in dressage at the highest standard.
I was a member of the 2009 Young Rider European team and since then I have been working my way up through the grades and have been placed internationally at Grand Prix. I now have an outstanding team of horses, whom can you read about in the ‘Horses’ section!
I receive fortnightly coaching from Erik Theilgaard and also attend monthly clinics with double Olympic Gold Medallist Charlotte Dujardin. When I am not working with one of my coaches, I train the horses myself with support from my mum, Sarah. Keeping all my horses fit and training other horses from the livery yard at Headmore Stud means that I typically ride about 10 – 12 horses a day. This can also include backing youngsters which we have bred at the Stud.
A typical day is a busy one but the decision to work with horses is one which I have a complete passion for.
